Winchester City Museum is a great place to see real Roman artefacts, and find out about life in 'Venta Belgarum', Roman Winchester. The gallery features mosaics, wall paintings, jewellery, coins, and burials. There is a reconstructed Roman kitchen and hypocaust. There are hands-on activities, and replica Roman costume.

Visits are free and can be teacher-led, or you might opt for a Roman object handling session led by the Education Officer. A teachers' information pack is available for the Roman 'Venta' Gallery. Roman artefact loan packs are also available.
